I've always loved photos...moving or still. When I was a kid I was fascinated by our 3-D Viewmaster. I would look at magazine photos and wonder "how did they do that?!" Until three years ago I suffered through rolls of film where only a few photos weren't too embarrassing to show others. Then I bought a digital point and click camera. I discovered online photo editing. No more film! I purchased a Nikon D50 SLR camera and the whole world opened up. After taking several classes at a local photography school to learn how to use many of the D50's features and how to better compose photos, my instructors encouraged me to try anything. In December 2007 I took delivery of a D300 and that is my primary camera now. Every photoshoot is a learning experience and I continue to watch for helpful workshops and training opportunities. Every opportunity I have I round up a willing model to photograph. I visit a park. I walk around the neighborhood. While I find all kinds of subjects intriguing, I am most interested in capturing people either by surprise or by design.
