As a photographer I look at everything as a photo opportunity. Even the most mundane object can become a thing of beauty. Up close can be amazing. A landscape can be mesmerizing. People are unique. It's all of these creative options that make up the world I attempt to capture. Sometimes I nail it. Sometimes I don't. But I always give it my best shot! Enjoy.

Open Hand cooks, packs and delivers over 4,500 meals daily for people who are homebound with critical or chronic illnesses or who are senior. Nearly 75 volunteers are needed daily. On a quiet, rainy weekend I joined some friends at a little cottage on Lake Norman, north of Charlotte, and shot these photos during a peaceful and relaxing getaway and then slept with the rain drumming softly on the roof overhead.
